I have a bit of heartburn todayIt’s not a new phenomenon, I’ve felt it many times before, striking me square in the solar plexus. An uneasy, empty ache that hits all families, mainly after holidays.
This heartburn is not that gastrointestinal kind that comes from all the rich food that the holiday entails. No, it is caused by simply seeing children and grandchildren climb into cars or buses, or airplanes and we don’t go with them!!
It is not fatal, or long lasting. Mine usually abates when I get a call or text saying “I’m here!” Wherever “here” is!! I will always be tolerant of this heartburn because it means the time together meant that love joys and relationships were renewed until that next time, that wonderful, longed for, next time!!!
